  • Introduction

    After introduction of the E12 5-series in 1972, Alpina produced a limited number of special customer-request cars.

    Initially, the A4 upgrade with 169PS which Alpina developed for the 2002tii was offered for the 4-cylinder 520.

    For the 6-cylinder E12, an option was the installation of the Alpina B2 engine from the Alpina 3.0CS with 230hp. This gave the four-door saloon performance like a sports car, 0-100 km/h in 6,9 seconds and a top speed of nearly 230 km/h.

    Another option was the Alpina B6 engine from the E21 B6 2.8 with 200hp. The 528 B6 accelerated from 0-100 km/h in 7,6 seconds.

    Both car were fitted with Alpina-Bilstein suspension system, front spoilers, Alpina wheels and complete Alpina interior kits.
