In March 1994, Alpina introduced the B10 4.6. The price was an impressive 35000 D-Mark cheaper than the B10 BiTurbo.
The B10 4.6 engine is the same as in the B8 4.6. The engine produces 340 bhp and has a torque of 480 Nm. The additional 7 bhp and 10 Nm are due to a less restrictive exhaust system. The gearbox is a 6-speed manual or optional Switch-Tronic gearbox.
The B10 4.6 has the Alpina-Bilstein suspension with gas-pressure dampers and progressive springs. The wheels are 17in high with 235 tires at the front and 265 tires at the rear.
The B10 4.6 has the same interior and exterior changes as the B10 4.0, however the B10 4.6 has a rear spoiler as standard.
The B10 4.6 is not as fast as the B10 BiTurbo but it is still a very fast car. In Auto Motor und SportĀ“s test of the Switch-Tronic version, it accelerated from 0-100 km/h in 6.4 seconds, 0-160 km/h in 14.2 seconds, 0-200 km/h in 23.1 seconds and had a top speed of 275 km/h.
Between March 1994 and April 1996 a total of only 46 B10 4.6 were built.
