The author spends quite some time contemplating the sense of a S65 AMG in the UK. Even though it is quite a bit more expensive, it doesn't have much performance advantage versus a S55 AMG or S600 at lower speeds. The same is true when comparing it to the B7 - the S65 AMG has a lot of trouble finding grip up to 100 mph during the test in the wet conditions. Due to the significantly lower weight, the B7 is much more agile. The author's conclusion is that he would rather have two B7's for the same money as one S65 AMG. |
